It is an absolute privilege to skate with Andee Wardoll #517, our Skater of the Week! She’s quick, agile and sneaks her way out of any pack. She executes high-level footwork like it’s second nature. And, she always does so with a big smile, making her a joy to watch from the sidelines. CRG is so thankful to find such a wonderful skater, friend and teammate in Andee.

How long have you been playing roller derby?
“4.5 years.”

What do you do for your day job?
“Graphic Designer.”

What is your volunteer role within the team?
“PR assistant.”

What kind of skates do you roll on?
“Antik AR2 hightops.”

What’s your favorite position to play?
“Jammer.”

What is one of your derby strengths?
“Skating – I’ve played hockey most of my life, so that was a very transferable skill!”

What made you want to play roller derby?
“I won tickets to a CRG game at the Cintas center 20 years ago and was in awe the whole time!”

If you had to pick a highlight from your derby career so far, what would it be?
“Getting MVP jammer in a game I played the day before going to treatment for months and being sent off with so much love by my Lansing team. Then being welcomed with open arms to CRG – a team I dreamed of being a part of for over half my life!”

What do you do for fun off the track?
“I love doing crafts, decorating my home, gardening, writing and trying new restaurants with friends.”

What would you say to someone who has thought about playing roller derby?
“Do it! It is never too late to find a spot in the community and you won’t find better friends!”
