CRD 20th Anniversary Celebration

Game Day Preview: 20th Anniversary Celebration

For two decades, Cincinnati Roller Derby has been delivering hard-hitting action to the Queen City. We’re celebrating those 20 years of history—and all the people who have made it possible—at our 20th Anniversary Celebration at Flock Sports in North College Hill on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Our A team, the Black Sheep, takes the track against Downriver Roller Dolls of Woodhaven, MI in a hard-hitting, competitive match at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

In addition to the action, fans will also get the opportunity to stroll down memory lane. We’ll have a display of roller derby memorabilia documenting CRD’s time at the Cincinnati Gardens and beyond with vintage photos, posters, and much more.

Alumni will also get the opportunity to take the track again for a full-contact game of musical chairs at halftime.

Former skater Jas “The Hammer” Hubbard, one of CRD’s top-point scorers of yore, said she remembers her time with the team as an opportunity to skate with 20 of her closest friends.

“To even win or lose, it [didn’t] matter, but to perform cohesively with your team in front of giant masses of people and hear them cheering for you… it was like nothing I had ever experienced before,” she said.

CHARITY PARTNER

We are hosting a food drive in partnership with CAIN Cincinnati, a local non-profit devoted to providing safety nets for low-income families.

If you’re coming to the game, please bring food items for donation. Even if you can’t stay to watch, CRD will be accepting donations at our check-in table on Nov. 14 from 4-8 p.m.

Everyone who donates food items or makes a monetary donation will be entered in a raffle to win a special prize. All shelf-stable food donations are welcome, but here’s a list of CAIN’s most needed items:

  • Bottled water
  • Gatorade, single-serve juices and drink mix packets
  • Snack-size chips or crackers
  • Microwaveable meals
