Game Day Preview: PRIDE NIGHT DOUBLEHEADER
June 20, CRD’s Black Sheep take on Vette City Venom
Tickets are going fast for our last game before summer break – and it will be a celebratory blowout!
Saturday June 20 kicks off at 5p.m. with a sanctioned A-game between Cincinnati Roller Derby Black Sheep (our A team) and Vette City Roller Derby’s Venom (their B team) from Bowling Green, KY. Then stay for a Pride Mixer between our outest, most Prideful skaters around, who each signed up to roll out some rainbow-colored derby. Both games will be at our new, larger home – Flock Sports on Hamilton Ave in North College Hill. Doors open 4 p.m. – come early to grab your drink and a good seat!
Bring your family and friends to make an evening of it, go all out with our available VIP seating! Children under 12 get in free – all ticket types are available here.
We have a lot in store for a night filled with PRIDE – including 2 Drag performances, themed mixer and proclamation by Cincinnati’s Mayor. It will be a night of inclusivity and celebration. In honor of Pride, we asked Gore-gon, a fierce CRD jammer who will play in the first game against Vette City, about how Pride and derby come together for her. She said:
“I’d love to say something about a sense of community where I can build a better relationship with my body. But today both my state and federal governments are legislating trans people like myself out of public life. To me, CRD is an essential lifeline that gives me safety and stability. It’s more important than ever to be visibly trans, to remind the world that we’re just people trying to live our best life, not the debaucherous demons that conservatives and many liberals paint us as. Our medical care is necessary, not a hedonistic excess, and we deserve to exist in all facets of public life, including athletic orgs.” –Gore-gon, she/her
Then we asked Lavender Menace, a relentless jammer who will play in the second game, about how Pride and derby come together for her. She said:
“CRD is a team of people who never make you feel like you have to hide your identity. It’s great to be around other people who are either like me, or supportive of me, especially when you navigate the world not knowing how you will be accepted. The Pride bout is so important to me because I get to celebrate that part of myself, being a queer athlete.” –Lavender Menace, she/her

50/50 Raffle: $2/ticket | 3 for $5 | or 10 for $10. Winner takes ½ the pot!

Parking: Our venue has a large free parking lot with plenty of additional parking nearby.
Concessions: No food truck but Flock team will offer food concessions.
